Two photos from today at the Inauguration. We were between the Washington Monument and the White House. These photos are of the crowd in front of us towards the screen and behind us towards the WWII and Lincoln Memorials. You can see the large pillars of the WWII Memorial in the photo.

So you know the crush of humanity you see in these pictures wasn't even visible in any of the t.v. views we have seen. So beyond the stretch you saw on t.v. the crowd continued. Mom, Dad and Mikaela all had fun (the boys stayed at normal childcare). Crowd was friendly and pleasant and the weather in the a.m./midday on the Mall was not bad.

As Chris said, no crowd we are ever likely to be in after this will compare.
